Virat Kohli likely to attend Advisory Committee- BCCI meeting over coach issue

first_imgThe Cricket Advisory Committee – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman – will meet the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the coach issue in London on Friday afternoon.Importantly, India captain Virat Kohli is expected to be in the meeting as well.Reports of a rift between Kohli and current coach Anil Kumble had surfaced soon after the BCCI issued an advertisement for the next coach. But the Indian board maintained it was only following procedures and processes.Ganguly, Laxman and Tendulkar, who had roped in Kumble as coach for a one-year period in 2016 in place of Ravi Shastri, have firmly backed the legendary leg-spinner to continue.India Today had reported last week that the CAC had asked for more time and wanted to hold discussions with BCCI and Kohli. The India captain has of course dismissed any news of rifts with the coach as mere rumour.Kumble, meanwhile, will travel with the team to the West Indies for a limited-overs series comprising five ODIs and a one-off T20 International after the end of the Champions Trophy.last_img read more
