Looker followed in second in 16:44.10, Beardsley was third in 16:44.60, King finished fourth in 16:45.30 and Holmes placed fifth with 16:45.60.This is placeholder textThis is placeholder textRounding things out for Ellsworth were Conrad Svec, 11th in 18:13.45, and Taylor Hamilton, 13th in 18:46.40.For the second-place GSA Eagles, who had 43 points, Oliver Broughton placed sixth in 17:16.80.He was followed by Ollie Dillon, seventh in 17:18.20; Devlin Valle, eighth in 17:38.60; Tate Yoder, 10th in 18:05.50; Aylen Wolf, 14th in 19:10.20; Devon Oppedisano, 20th in 20:11.10; and Michael Salois, 21st in 20:21.40.Sumner placed third with 81 points.Issiac Christiansen led the way, finishing 11th in 18:19.70. Behind him were James Jordan, 24th in 20:49.50; Patrik Orcutt, 25th in 20:56.40; Ian Lariviere, 26th in 21:25.70; William Butler-Legasse, 27th in 21:31.00; Christian Kimball, 31st in 21:59.00; and Nicholas Kimball, 34th in 22:17.60.For Bucksport, Adam Bohlen placed 16th in 19:20.90, Taylor Soteres was 17th in 19:22.40, Bryon Dossett was 37th in 23:18.20 and Amaziah Jones placed 39th in 23:25.00.In the girls’ race, Ellsworth’s Aleta Looker ran away from the rest of the field to finish in 18:10.00.She was followed by Hayley Lawrence, third in 21:31.00; Mariah Brown, fourth in 21:54.00; Julia Zavaleta, 11th in 23:40.00; Olivia Lounder, 12th in 23:47.00; Katie Walton, 26th in 26:43.50; and Allie McKown, 28th in 26:56.20.For GSA, Hanna Gutow crossed the finish line three minutes behind Looker to place second in 21:12.30.She was followed by Rachel DesFosses, fifth in 21:31.00; Madison Cole, seventh in 22:42.20; Bella Cimeno, eighth in 22:42.30; Emma Larson-Whittaker, ninth in 22:43.30; Hanna Jordan, 10th in 22:49.10; and Cedar Slagle, 13th in 24:17.00.The finish places of the top five runners for each team determine the team score. But Ellsworth and GSA tied with 31 points each, and it was Jordan, GSA’s number six runner, who gave her Eagles the team win with her 10th place finish. She was well ahead of Walton, who was the number six runner for Ellsworth.For Bucksport in the girls’ race, Natasha Clement was 18th in 25:21.00 and Mavis Taungatu’a was 37th in 34:17.20.For Sumner, Cassidy Lee was 20th in 25:25.30 and Jessica West was 36th in 32:42.00.At an Orono meet on Friday, the Mount Desert Island Trojan girls’ team placed first among three schools with a score of 26 in the 2.76-mile race Friday.MDI runners Maggie Painter finished third in 19:00.36, Waylon Henggeler finished fourth in 19:09.60, Isabel Erickson finished seventh in 20:19.78, Olivia Erickson placed eighth in 20:27.89 and Lydia Dacorte got ninth in 20:45.90.Orono placed second with 32 points, and Old Town placed third with 82.The MDI boys’ team placed second among four teams with 33 points as Orono won with 24 points.
